By now, the news is everywhere about the death of overzealous paparazzo Chris Guerra on Tuesday night as he was in hot pursuit of someone he thought was Justin Bieber.

According to TMZ, the photographer hit another vehicle head-on in Los Angeles while vigorously tailing Bieber’s Ferrari. (Actually, Bieber reportedly was not in the car at the time, and it was instead being driven by his pal Lil Twist, a teen rapper.)

Guerra had reportedly been tailing the car all day after telling a friend that he thought he saw Bieber smoking a substance from a pipe while behind the wheel. In hot pursuit of the “story,” he sadly paid the ultimate price.

Bieber released this statement: “Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders and the photographers themselves.”
