Joss Stone pops up in the most unexpected places

There are so many reasons to love Joss Stone right now.

The singer — born Joscelyn Eve Stoker in Kent, England — has been popping up in the coolest, most unexpected places, acting-wise, with starring roles in the sword-and-sorcery flick “Eragon” and TV’s sword-and-beheadings historical drama “The Tudors,” as Anne of Cleves.

And to top it off, she’s also been doing voiceover work, in the recent video game “James Bond 007: Blood Stone” and as Hooker No. 2 and Unattractive Girl No. 1 on Fox’s sorely underrated “American Dad!” (Watch it and see if you don’t agree that Roger the space alien truly has the most unabashedly filthy mouth anywhere on television).

But we digress.

Stone is now poised for a long-awaited comeback via her new album “LP1,” which she’s issuing on her own Stone’d Records imprint on July 26 (through Surf Dog).

She swears it’s the most fun she’s ever had in the studio, tracking the set in Nashville with Eurythmics force Dave Stewart in just six days. She even employed all-Music Row players for the job.

Think it’s not news?

Bear this in mind: The kid has already sold 11 million records, been dubbed “Aretha Joplin” by no less than Smokey Robinson, and she’s only 24. It’s time for her to reign supreme.
