John Lennon music bus rolls into city

Einar Johnson, director of the music school SAE Institute San Francisco, has partnered with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus to bring the bus to the institute from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today in celebration of the former Beatles member’s 70th birthday.

Why are you putting on this event? We want to be involved in making music a greater part of people’s lives.

How will the Lennon bus enhance your students’ experiences? Many of our students are musicians, so they will be recording on the actual bus and applying what they have learned at school. Since it is a professional recording studio, they can demonstrate both to the studio crew and to themselves just how far they’ve come.

Why are you partnering with the Lennon bus? The partnership is a great symbiotic relationship. The Lennon Foundation is focused on music and education, which is the core we have always been involved with. Using the background, history and love of The Beatles, John Lennon specifically, is a great fit for SAE to show there are great opportunities in music. But because it is technologically driven, education is a key aspect.
