A 65-year-old man was injured when he was struck by a car in South San Francisco on Monday night, police said.

The victim, Herman Britt, was jaywalking in the 200 block of Grand Avenue when he was hit around 8:45 p.m., police said.

Britt was wearing dark clothing, making it difficult for the driver to see him in the roadway, according to police.

South San Francisco Fire Department paramedics transported Britt to a hospital. He suffered a broken arm and is expected to recover, police said.
