‘Hungry’ thief explains motive to victim

An armed crook was clear about why he robbed a man in the Tenderloin.

“I’m hungry,” the thug told the 24-year-old victim near the intersection of Hyde Street and Golden Gate Avenue around 3:35 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The crook pointed a handgun at the victim and also said “empty your pockets or I’m going to shoot you,” before running off with a cell phone, police said.

The victim was not injured, cops said.
