Gourmet food trucks could be coming to Golden Gate Transit’s Larkspur terminal

Ferry commuters travelling from Larkspur to San Francisco may soon be able to snack on some gourmet food while they wait for their ride to arrive.

The Golden Gate Bridge District is considering a five-month pilot program that would allow gourmet food vendors to set up shop at the Larkspur ferry terminal. On Friday, the bridge district could approve a test run with Event Bank, a local event organizer, for a program that would provide four or five gourmet food trucks at the Larkspur landing. Event Bank will select what food trucks will participate in the pilot program, which is slated to run from May through September.

If the district approves the pilot, they’ll get a percentage of the sales profits, which will go to help defray operating costs. If the program turns out to be a success, the district will have the option of extending it indefinitely.
