Marco Scutaro and Brandon Belt drove in the tying and go-ahead runs with opposite-field hits in the eighth inning Wednesday afternoon, rallying the Giants to a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

The triumph was the Giants' second in the three-game set, preventing the Rockies from claiming their first series win at AT&T Park since 2010. It also gave San Francisco a 10-9 edge in the season series, wrapping up their fifth consecutive year of head-to-head superiority over Colorado.

After they had gotten only one run out of a bases-loaded, no-out situation in the seventh inning, the Giants did one better in the eighth against Rockies reliever Matt Belisle (5-7), even after exhausting an out on a sacrifice bunt to help load the bases again.

Pinch-hitter Ehire Adrianza provided the bunt, which moved Brandon Crawford and Angel Pagan, who had led off the inning with successive singles, into scoring position.

After pinch-hitter Buster Posey was walked intentionally to create a double-play possibility, Scutaro tied the game with a single to right that plated Crawford, and Belt followed with what turned out to be the difference-making hit, a single to left that scored Pagan.

Santiago Casilla, serving as closer as the Giants rested Sergio Romo following appearances in each of the first two games of the series, picked up his second save.

Giants starter Yusmeiro Petit lasted 5²⁄³ innings, allowing three earned runs. Petit was coming off a near-perfect game in which he retired the first 26 Arizona Diamondbacks he faced in a 3-0 shutout on Friday. Petit set down the first 11 Rockies he faced until walking Dickerson on a full-count pitch in the top of the fourth.
