Four arrested in Bayview officer-involved shooting

Police say they’ve arrested a group of suspected gangbangers — including three juveniles — in connection with a shootout with plainclothes cops Saturday night in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood.

The officers traded gunfire with at least one of the suspects around 9:40 p.m., police said. No one was hit, they said.

The officers were responding to reports of a suspicious person with a gun at Reardon and Kiska roads, police said. The shootout occurred in a Hunters Point public housing project, they said.

Three juvenile males and a man in his early 20s, all San Francisco residents, were taken into custody early Sunday morning, Sgt. Troy Dangerfield said.

They were booked on gang charges. One was booked on firearms charge.

Investigations on both the shooting suspects and the officers’ actions are ongoing, as is standard protocol, police said.
