A former Kung Fu instructor in San Mateo was arrested last month on suspicion of committing lewd acts with two of his young students, authorities said Tuesday, prompting police to launch a search for more possible victims.

Meng Ricky Wong, 36, of Redwood City, was booked into San Mateo County Jail on four counts of lewd conduct with minors after the female students, ages 9 and 11, came forward with allegations, San Mateo police Sgt. Dave Norris said.

Wong worked as an instructor at Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy, located at 25 43rd Avenue in San Mateo, from 1999 to 2011, police said.

The victims had been enrolled at Tat Wong at different times during the last two years and did not know each other, Norris said. Both victims are of different ethnic backgrounds.

Police announced the charges and released a photo of Wong with the hope that more possible victims will be encouraged to come forward.
