Two Bayview seniors refused to open the door for a stranger Monday, police said, but the heartless thug didn’t give them a choice.
The vicious burglar kicked in the home’s front door, then assaulted and robbed the 71-year-old woman and 61-year-old man in a terrifying midday home invasion in the 3000 block of San Bruno Avenue, police Sgt. Daryl Fong said.
Thankfully, the victims were not seriously injured, Fong said.
The incident began when the crook rang the doorbell just before noon. The victims peered at the man through the door’s peephole and decided not to answer, Fong said.
“The suspect walked away momentarily, but then came back and kicked the door in,” Fong said.
He grabbed the pair by their heads and pushed them aside, Fong said. He then went to a back room of the house, stole something and fled. The residents weren’t immediately sure what was stolen, as the item was taken from a room belonging to another resident, Fong said.
“In this case, it was so sudden,” Fong said. “But we emphasize calling police if you see someone lurking, and to inform your neighbors.”
