Fire crews responded to a report of a gas line rupture near a Daly City apartment building on Wednesday afternoon, North County Fire Authority officials said.
Fire crews responded around 3:45 p.m. to 313 Philip Drive, where a 2-inch gas line appeared to be leaking after it was struck by a backhoe, fire officials said.
Crews evacuated eight units at the apartment building and coordinated with PG&E to secure the leak. Once the leak was stopped, residents were allowed to return home, fire officials said.
The area was rendered safe after about two hours, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.
