Crabby cabbie beats, robs woman over fare dispute

An apparently crabby cabbie beat and robbed a Haight-Ashbury woman after she disputed the taxi fare on Sunday, the woman told police.

The woman said she was being dropped off at Scott and Haight streets around 5:10 a.m. when she told the taxi driver the fare wasn’t fair.

She left the car and began walking away when the cabbie “chased her on foot, pushed her to the ground, beat her and took her wallet and keys,” police said.

Further information was not immediately available. The robbery is under investigation, police said.
