Move over, Ed Lee. Ben Flajnik is coming to town and eyeing the crown.
Flajnik, a fresh reject from ABC's “The Bachelorette,” was dumped on national television Monday night. The Sonoma hometown hero was one of two finalists vying for the affections of Ashley Hebert, but he went home empty hearted.
Picking up the pieces, Flajnik headed over to Twitter to let the world in on his thoughts, 140 characters or less. Signing up for an account Wednesday, the bachelor describes himself as a "winemaker, failed proposer, and future mayor of San Francisco."
That last descriptor raises the eyebrows, no?
Those sick of Ed Lee all day every day may look at this as a reprieve from the political game of thrones currently waging under the dome.
Operating the increasingly popular Evolve Winery would gain Flajnik fast friends, and he could easily garner 51,000 signatures with the sympathy vote alone -- giving Mr. Lee a run for his questionable money. And some say the sensitive and funny hunk entering the race now would blow David Chiu's chances right out of the Bay's waters.
However, both Lee and Chiu may still have a fighting chance for mayor if Flajik is picked as the lead for next season's installment of “The Bachelor.”
And here's something to chew on: Gavin Newsom was once considered Northern California’s most eligible bachelor too and see how far he's come. Just sayin'.
