Community rallies to support family of the late Eric Quezada

Anyone part of San Francisco’s political scene knows the name Eric Quezada.

On Aug. 24, after a long battle against a rare cancer he died at age 45.

A fundraiser is being held Oct. 16, and donations are sought, to help the Quezada family pay for “significant medical costs.”

Contributions can be mailed to 470 Columbus Ave., Suite 211, San Francisco, 94133. Checks should be made payable to Eric Quezada Memorial Fund. The fundraiser event is being held at Jane Morrison’s home at 44 Woodland Ave. on Oct. 16 between 3 and 5 p.m.

Quezada founded the Mission Anti-Displacement Coalition, served as executive director of Dolores Street Community Services, and was a District 9 candidate for the Board of Supervisors. He was a “tireless warrior in the unending struggle for economic and social justice,” the invitation says.
