City attorney warns of bogus abortion 'crisis clinics'

In a deceptive ploy to preach to pregnant women, anti-abortionists have set up “crisis clinics” in San Francisco claiming to offer non-judgmental abortion services, city officials say.

The so-called “crisis pregnancy centers” market themselves as offering abortions and counseling services to women with unwanted pregnancies. But really they’re pushing an “anti-abortion agenda on those seeking constitutionally protected medical services,” according to the City Attorney’s Office.

City Attorney Dennis Herrera and Supervisor Malia Cohen will discuss efforts to crack down on the faux clinics at a City Hall news conference Tuesday morning.
