City announces Wi-Fi in public spaces
July 24, 2013
Mayor Ed Lee is joined by other city officials, including Supervisor Mark Ferrell, at Balboa Park on Wednesday morning to announce a new project to provide free Wi-Fi service for the public at 31 parks and plazas throughout San Francisco. The project is supported by a no-strings-attached donation of $600,000 from Google. Installation is expected to begin in December, with completion slated for next spring. San Francisco’s sf.citi initiative, along with the Department of Technology, are both working on the project.
