Citizens group to get update Thursday night on Central Subway project

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will give an update on the $1.6 billion Central Subway project this week.

Construction has already begun on the subway, which will expand Muni’s Metro service from the SoMa district to Chinatown and is scheduled to open for service in 2019.

On Thursday, the Central Subway’s Citizens Advisory Group will hear new reports about construction progress, funding and upcoming project benchmarks. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the International Hotel Senior Housing Center at 848 Kearny St.
