Child predator pleads not guilty to lewd act at Colma Christmas tree lot

Last month, a horrified mother caught a child predator exposing himself to her 6-year-old daughter at a Christmas tree lot in Colma, prosecutors said.

The suspect, 67-year-old Allan Meaney, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to all charges related to the alleged Dec. 1 incident.

Meaney, who has been labeled a “sexually violent predator” by the state following six prior convictions for sexual abuse of children, reportedly spoiled a typically joyous holiday outing for the family. While perusing trees at the department store lot, the mother noticed Meaney standing “a few feet away” with his pants’ zipper open and his hand on his genitals, said San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

The mother screamed at Meaney, Wagstaffe said, and she grabbed him by the jacket to detain him. He was able to break free and flee, but the mom followed him while yelling for help.

Meaney reportedly crashed his vehicle while trying to get away. That gave a store clerk enough time to jot down his license plate number, and he was later arrested at his South San Francisco home.

Meaney remains in custody on $100,000 bail.
