Car idling in Marina district stolen, suspect in custody

A woman who left her car idling on a Marina district street had it stolen Sunday, police said.

The carjacker, reportedly a man in his 30s, hopped in the driver’s seat of the car, which was momentarily left with the engine running in the 2400 block of Chestnut Street around 10:15 p.m. The woman saw the man about to drive away, and tried to stop him, police said.

The carjacker pushed her away and fled, police said.

Not long after, cops said they found the suspect and took him into custody.
