Burglar caught in the act in SoMa

A home was burglarized Monday in the South of Market area but the crook was caught red-handed and arrested, police said.

The 43-year-old suspect entered the home in the 600 block of Natoma Street through an unlocked door around 8:40 p.m. and began stealing tools while a 47-year-old resident was upstairs, police said.

Other residents in the home walked in on the crook and detained him until police arrived.
