Brick used in SoMa debt restructuring plan

A 45-year-old man who owed money for drugs was pummeled in the head with a brick in the South of Market district Monday, police said.

The indebted man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The attack happened near Second and Clementina streets around 8 p.m., police said.

The brick-wielding thug, described as being in his late 20s to mid 30s, attacked the man after he failed to produce the cash, police said.

The assailant fled and has not been arrested.
