Argument over drugs draws blood in Tenderloin assault

An argument over drugs turned bloody Tuesday in the Tenderloin when a man was cut in the forehead, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The 38-year-old victim and another man were allegedly arguing over money and drugs in the 300 block of Jones Street about 11:30 p.m. During the argument, the attacker pulled out either a razor blade or small pocket knife and sliced the victim’s forehead, Esparza said.

The blade-wielding goon fled on foot south on Jones Street and then east on Ellis Street. No arrest has been made.

The suspect was only described as a man aged 25 to 30, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white tennis shoes, and he had a “shaggy hair style,” Esparza said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, but his injury was considered minor.
