Yes, there are also many reasons beyond building strong bones to make sure you getting plenty of vitamin D (and calcium). There is still much research to be done, but there are a number of diseases and conditions that appear to be related in some way to vitamin D levels. For the most part the studies are showing correlations, which is not the same as causation, but it's exciting nonetheless.
