"Cycling advocates have called on San Francisco to increase safety measures in SoMa neighborhood, where all four of the bicyclist fatalities in The City this year have occurred."
Easy, just have the bicyclists follow all the rules as cars. Also have the police enforce the same traffic rules for cars that apply to cars. From what I see all day long, everyday in the FiDi and SoMa, I have no sympathy for bicyclists who ride like they have a death wish.
Must be those Korean street thugs that bring the neighborhood down!
“There’s no problem with it getting too big,” said Gutierrez,... “They just don’t want white people involved.” So much for diverity in the city. Melting pot? No. Separatism? Yes.
Too many people around the city are just looking to get hit for an insurace payout. You see it all over the place. People just start crossing without bothering to look both ways. I can be in the middle of the intersection and some idiot will step off the curb right in front of me. This type of behavior is all over the city but rampant in the Financial district, Chinatown, Downtown, & SOMA.
On the other hand, when I use to walk a couple of miles in those same areas, I'd have to be extra careful crossing streats. Cars just roll over stop signs. Cars making right on reds find pedestrians as annoyances. Cab drivers are just plain distracted and psycho, too busy looking for the next fare than paying attention to who's walking in front of them.
What we need is more enforcement on both sides. Consistently!
must be the same guys who shot at that lady in the mission district since the description matches exactly.
"The robbers, described as men in their early 20s, fled." That's all the woman said in her description?? Or is that all you're allowed to print? Also I wouldn't be hanging around that area at any time of the day unless I absolutely needed to.
Look both ways and wait for the green. you'll be safe.
