New York has acted in a responsible manner to clean up the city. San Francisco continues to be a filthy urine-soaked dump. End of discussion.
The Examiner failed to include an important statistic. During the time period in which the Editors claim 1,200 patients died prematurely under the British healthcare system, how many tens of thousands of Americans died prematurely as a result of having no medical coverage under the current American healthcare system? During that time period, how many millions of Americans received no treatment whatsoever for their health problems simply because they currently are denied coverage under the American system? The Editors continue to regurgitate the Republican lie that America currently has the best healthcare system in the world. Sorry, Editors. We do NOT currently have the best healthcare system. We simply have the most expensive one.
Referring to the proposed new hotel tax as the "Hotel Fairness Initiative" is a total farce. Why don't the supporters of this tax call it what it is, the additional fleecing of hotel guests.
