Why is SFMTA spending $200Million for Bicycle Lanes when they have a $1.7Billion shortfall???
SFMTA lies again. The $1.9 Million is only coin revenue. The real revenue is the tickets. SFMTA issued 11,000 warnings.
11,000 warnings x $62tickets = $682,00.00 in tickets per Sunday. With 52 Sundays per year = SFMTA will issue another $35.4 Million in tickets.
How much will be spent in OVERTIME????
SFMTA should overhaul it's overtime pay policy first.
@Awayneramsey: Fact 1) The dog was in a LEGAL off leash area.Fact 2) It was a Staffordshire terrier, NOT a pit bull. The Examiner should Fact Check before publishing.
@keepoutofmylife: The zone parking program works - based on the neighborhoods needs. And meter maids aggressively enforce it - citing anyone and everyone. What's to streamline? Sounds like SFMTA is crying wolf.
SFMTA increased citation fines over 30% in the past 3 years, increased parking meter rates by 35% , and began an aggressive campaign of strict enforcement. This means the 10% past due amount still nets them a 20% BUDGET INCREASE in the past 3 years. Tell the real story. The "deficit" cause isn't collections, it's union labor costs.
