If the cabbies don't like it they should find a different job. I had one hack take my credit card for a $45 fare. I gave him a nice tip. He apparently took down my credit card number on the slip I signed, took it over to Oakland, and processed it somehow adding a 3 dollar fee when I got my bill. They know its not worth my time to go argue about it for $3 but it is a dishonest practice.
I can't believe that Ed Lee or others think that "affordable housing" will help the homeless situation. The majority of the people downtown are lifelong dedicated "bums" who are either drinking it up, drugging it up, or too mentally ill to stay in any one place too long or to function in society. Creating affordable housing for a 100 people will not change their situation one little bit. If SF leadership continues to tolerate it, it will continue to occur. It used to be that a cop with a night stick would just say, "move a long buddy".
Oh come on. Who cashes a 10,000 check and gets cash? Are people really that stupid to do that? Depending on why she cashed the check and for whom, I wonder if the robbery was staged.
If you commit the crime in the Walgreens, does that make it drug-related?
How can this be true? Are you really wanting us to believe that someone on Sixth Street would willingly and knowingly waste a bottle of alcohol? Drink it then smash it, absolutely. But come on.
Why is that golf course any different than any other bay area golf course. I am sure you can find SF garter snakes in just about any environment on the peninsula, including everyone's back yard. Some neighbor probably doesn't like the noise and wants to get it shut down. Maybe the environmentalist should lay down in front of the mowers to stop them.
Can't stop a budding industry like this. Sorry.
