I support the merchants on this 100%.
@Realist: Realist - you are a little gung ho here. It isn't that people shouldn't have children, but that they should be raising them in a city/town where it is more affordable for them. Not everyone can afford to live here. They are expecting freebies and that offends me. If you cannot come up with the money every month for bus fare, then you are either not budgeting your money properly or you simply cannot afford to live in San Francisco. I am not for this freebie at all.
If you cannot afford a Muni pass or bus fare for your children in SF, then you cannot afford to live here. I would be very happy to see inspectors checking the cards and fining those who are scamming the system. Odds are there will be quite a few.
Well, this is a city of a rapidly disappearing middle class. You have the haves, and the have nots. The church would not be feeding people if there wasn't a need. The haves are freaking out about their property values being affected by having these people around. Homelessness and hunger are a real problem, but so is crime. I would rather help these people and move our criminals and section 8 people out of the city. People waiting in line for a meal are not going to hurt you.
1. Bayview. 2. The usual suspect. Nothing good goes on in that neighborhood.
No name change! SFO is known worldwide. Harvey Milk is not an Internationally known persona and this really makes no sense. Stick with naming local streets/buildings/playgrounds for him, but that is as far as it should go.
This event has jumped the shark and is way, way overpriced.
