@Bill: Amen Bill.
@JGSRELP: I was going to comment similarly but you took the words right out of my mouth. Parasite in sheeps's clothing.
I hope justice prevails for the me-first "Safety Instructor" -- for the sake of the victim's family. And where is the outrage from the Bike Coalition? Have they be showing up in support of him at his hearings? If so, this needs to be reported.
@Realist: You are spot on Realist. Thank you.
I too am astonished at how library staff defends and enbles vagrants who monopolize the computers at my branch, often surfing porn in full view of the little kids' area at my library. Since using a library computer involves sitting close/next to one of those pervs, that resurce is off limits to me. Do not even want to touch. It is creepy when they leer at me as I pick up a reserved book from the shelf located near them at my branch.
Apples and Oranges. Time to separate the two in terms of our aid and approach.
1. Re Homeless: Build it and they will come. Hopefully they are movng themselves forward to getting off on thier own. The food line will never go away. Need time lmits and finite window of aid.
2. Addicts. No one is forcing drugs and alcohol down the throats/veins of anyone in this town. That we pay for "programs", aid, etc. that are proven largely unsuccessful, to free druggies from their own choices, is proving to be a waste of money. Another corrective is required for the problems produced by this group. And it is not a hot meal. see point #1. I do not know what it is, but we are all tired of the social consequences and tragedies produced by this group who their own families do not even seem to want.
@Get Real: People like Stacy show up anywhere there is a microphone, regardless of subject, to promote their cause which always has something to do with thier own livelihood, vs. altruism. Cry me a river Stacy, and all others (poverty pimps, really) that use the same bullying tactic and distract from the matter at hand.
