September 15, 2013
The sight of colorful wooden dragons filling the water beneath the Bay Bridge’s new eastern span drew tens of thousands of people to Treasure Island over the weekend. Event organizers for the 18th annual Kaiser Permanente San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival expected a record turnout of some 80,000 attendees. The festival centers on dozens of daily races between more than 100 novice and competitive dragon boat teams.
