Friday’s games:

Palo Alto at Burlingame, 7 p.m.
The traditionally strong schools square off in both teams’ season opener. Palo Alto prevailed in last year’s meeting 48-21.

Capuchino at South San Francisco, 7 p.m.
The Warriors squeaked out a 13-12 victory in their opener last week, while the Mustangs hit the road for their season debut.

Scotts Valley at Half Moon Bay, 7 p.m.
The Cougars look to bounce back from a 38-14 defeat to Homestead in their season opener.

Hillsdale at Yerba Buena, 7 p.m.
The Knights opened their season with a 13-9 victory over Menlo last week and will look to make it two in a row when they visit the San Jose school.

Terra Nova at Wilcox, 7 p.m.
The Tigers battled Sacred Heart Cathedral in their opener, but ultimately came up short. Wilcox will be another tough test.

Galileo at Sequoia, 7 p.m.
Fresh off a 44-0 rout to open the season, the Cherokees host the defending Academic Athletic Association champions.

Serra at Monte Vista, 7 p.m.
After being blitzed by De La Salle 45-7 on Saturday, things don’t get much easier for the Padres against East Bay-power Monte Vista.

Los Gatos at M-A, 2 p.m.
After a loss to open the 2010 campaign, Menlo-Atherton will have its hands full at home with the rugged Wildcats.

Willow Glen at Carlmont, 2 p.m.
The Scots’ offense clicked on all cylinders in their first game and will look to do the same in the home opener.

Washington at El Camino, 2 p.m.
The Colts were routed by Washington in last season’s opener and are hoping to avoid the same fate again in 2010.

Jefferson at San Marin, 2 p.m.
Off to a 1-0 start, the Indians head north for the second straight road contest.

Los Altos at Mills, 2 p.m.
The Vikings will need to fix a defense that allowed 41 points in a season-opening loss to Galileo.

Riordan at Sacred Heart Prep, 3 p.m.
With their first victory out of the way, the Gators will be tested at home by their West Catholic League foe.

Carmel vs. Menlo at Woodside High School, 7 p.m.
The Knights scored just nine points in their season-opening loss and will try to get their offense on track.
