In an uncomfortable live television interview on KTLA Monday morning, Samuel L. Jackson was allegedly mistaken for Laurence Fishburne.

Appearing to discuss his role in the upcoming “RoboCop” film, Jackson was asked by news anchor Sam Rubin if there were any strong reactions to a Super Bowl commercial.

In the interview footage, first posted online by TMZ, Jackson rolls his eyes upwards, then looks back at Rubin and asks: “What Super Bowl commercial?… You know what? See, you’re as crazy as the people on Twitter. I’m not Laurence Fishburne!” (Fishburne appeared in a Super Bowl ad for the car manufacturer Kia).

Rubin apologized, saying it was his fault. Jackson continued with “we don’t all look alike,” and later adding “you’re the entertainment reporter for this station, and you don’t know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne?”

Jackson, who mostly smiles the entire time, reminded Rubin of his own Capital One commercial tagline: “‘What’s in your wallet?’ I’m that guy. There’s more than one black guy doing a commercial.”

Rubin followed up with a formal on-air apology after the interview, claiming he was trying to ask Jackson about an ad for the film “Captain America” which features Jackson in his role as Nick Fury.
