Robber bites woman’s stomach, smashes bottle over man’s head

A 46-year-old woman bit a woman in the stomach and slashed a man’s face with a bottle after trying and failing to rob the pair, said police.

The Thursday morning incident occurred South of Market near the intersection of First and Mission streets when the suspect tried to take a 21-year-old woman’s purse just after 2 a.m.

When the woman’s companion tried to intervene, the suspect broke a bottle on his face. The suspect then punched the female victim in the face and bit her in the stomach.

Police arrived soon afterward and arrested the 46-year-old suspect who was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault.
