Ride-hail passenger attacks men in Nob Hill after one kicks vehicle

Two men were attacked Sunday by a passenger in a ride-hail vehicle after one of them kicked the vehicle, according to police.

The Sunday morning incident, at 12:31 a.m., took place near Taylor and Sutter streets in lower Nob Hill. The two victims were jaywalking across the street and forced the driver of the ride-hail vehicle to come to a stop.

After one of the men kicked the car, a 28-year-old male passenger in the car got out and punched a 57-year-old man. After the man lost consciousness and fell to the ground, the attacker punched the other victim, a 27-year-old man.

A passerby stopped the fight, but the suspect fled on foot. Police soon found the suspect and made an arrest.

Both of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries.
