Record-breaking high temperatures in SF today

It's hella hot in San Francisco today, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The weather service reports that downtown San Francisco reached a high of 88 degrees today, breaking the previous record set in 1922 by a single degree.

San Francisco International Airport also experienced record-breaking temperatures, maxing out at 90 degrees today. The previous record for the airport was set at 87 degrees in 2006.

Heat records were broken throughout the Bay Area as well. Temperatures at the Oakland Airport reached 89 degrees today, breaking the record 86 degrees set in 2008.

Record highs were also recorded in Mountain View, Monterey, and at the Salinas Airport.
