Man beaten with stick in SF left in life-threatening condition
A 38-year-old man was beaten with a stick in South of Market early Wednesday morning during an assault that left him in life-threatening condition, police said.
An attacker chased the man and hit him with a stick at Fifth and Bryant streets around 4:30 a.m., knocking the man to the ground. Police said the 51-year-old suspect then jumped on the victim and punched him.
Officers arrested the suspect after a witness called police.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in life-threatening condition.
SoMa parking lot stabbing sends man to hospital
A 30-year-old man was stabbed Tuesday night at a parking lot in South of Market and taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition, police said.
The victim was stabbed by another man, who has not been arrested, at Ninth and Howard streets after 10 p.m., police said.
Police described the suspect as a man between the ages of 25 and 35 who wielded a knife during the stabbing.
