Update: Person of interest described in theft of puppy from shelter

A puppy was stolen from a San Francisco animal shelter this afternoon and Animal Care and Control officials are asking for help in getting him back.

The puppy, a 2-month-old black and white male pitbull named Louie, was taken from the city shelter at 1200 15th St. in San Francisco around 2 p.m., according to San Francisco Animal Care and Control spokeswoman Deb Campbell.

A person of interest in the theft is described as a young African American woman wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, accompanied by a young man wearing a white v-neck t-shirt and a hat.

Anyone with information on the theft or the puppy’s location can call Animal Care and Control at (415) 554-9400.
