Prosthetic arm snatched during SoMa car break-in

A prosthetic arm was stolen during a car break-in on Saturday in South of Market, according to police.

The auto burglar snatched the arm from a vehicle parked on Cleveland Street between Seventh and Sherman streets at around 6 p.m., police said.

Police said the prosthetic belonged to a 41-year-old man.

No suspect has been identified in the case.

More than 1,800 car break-ins had already been reported in San Francisco by the end of January, according to police.

The City recorded a total of nearly 26,000 auto burglaries in 2018, a 17 percent decline from the more than 31,000 reported in 2017.
