Prince, Stevie Wonder play secret show for Obamas

As their time in the White House draws to a close, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama threw an undercover party there over the weekend. And, as with any wild house party, the Obamas totally got busted by their buddies on social media.

The Rev. Al Sharpton used Twitter on Sunday to gush about how “awesome” it was seeing Prince and Stevie Wonder share a keyboard. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson posted a picture of himself cuddling with singer Ciara with the caption, “Thanks Mr. President and First Lady!” “Selma” director Ava DuVernay posted a blurry selfie of herself dancing, adding, “One of the best house parties I’ve ever been to. Hands down.”

According to the New York Post, musical guests Prince and Wonder brought the house down with a once-in-a-lifetime duet of “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.” The Post said the guest list also included Jon Bon Jovi and James Taylor, though unfortunately there were no all-star attempts at “Wanted: Dead Or Alive” or “Country Road.”

On Monday, White House spokesman Josh Earnest covered for his bosses by refusing to share details about the party, saying  the Obamas paid for it “on their own dime.” Earnest also refused to say what the party cost, although an audience with the Purple One doesn’t come cheap.

LADIES RULE ON GINSBURG FLICK

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, aka Notorious R.B.G., is so good at fighting for ladies’ rights, she does it without even trying these days.

The 82-year-old told the American Constitution Society convention over the weekend that it’s no accident that the upcoming biopic about her, “On the Basis of Sex,” will be helmed by a woman. Oscar winner Natalie Portman, who plays a young Ginsburg during a landmark 1970s sex-discrimination case in the film, had one major stipulation for taking the role.

“[Portman] said, ‘I want the director to be a woman. There are not enough women in this industry. There are many talented out there,’ said Ginsburg, according to MSNBC.com. “And now they do have a woman director.”
Marielle Heller (“Diary of a Teenage Girl”) is in talks to direct, according to Deadline.

Rapper-artist Mykki Blanco, a native of San Mateo County, announced to fans over the weekend that he has been HIV positive since 2011. …  Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will star in “Pitch Perfect 3.”
