SFPD looking for identity theft suspect

San Francisco police on Tuesday asked the public for help in identifying a suspect who used stolen credit cards at a South of Market
store.

The suspect used stolen credit cards to make more than $2,000 in unauthorized purchases at a store in the 700 block of Mission Street around
9:43 p.m. on Sept. 18, according to police.

Surveillance video released Tuesday shows the suspect coming down an escalator. He is described as a black man in his mid 20s who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

The suspect has a tattoo of what appears to be a rosary bead around his neck, and may go by the name of “Jay” or “Jason.”

Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to call police at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 and start the message with “SFPD.” The case number is 160-761-093.
