San Francisco police have identified and are seeking the whereabouts of a man suspected of fatally shooting a beloved LGBT disc jockey near a Tenderloin strip club last fall.
Anthony “Bubbles” Torres, an activist, artist and performer, was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at about 2:50 a.m. in the area of Larkin and Myrtle streets Sept. 9, police said.
Torres was taken to a hospital, where they later died.
Through an investigation, the San Francisco Police Department’s Homicide Detail determined the suspect is Hieu Trung Nguyen, 30, a San Francisco resident. Nguyen is described as 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, with dark hair and dark eyes.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Nguyen with a bail of $15 million.
Nguyen should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police. Anyone with information of his whereabouts is urged to call the SFPD 24 Hour Tip Line at (415) 575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with “SFPD.”
