A recent victim of a vehicle burglary in San Francisco was none other than the man in charge of solving that and all the city's other crimes — police Chief Greg Suhr.
Suhr said the burglary happened a few weeks ago outside his home in the city's Golden Gate Heights neighborhood.
The suspect or suspects broke into the car and stole a jacket inside of it, the chief said.
He revealed details of the crime while talking to residents of the city's Marina District at a town hall meeting tonight about a recent police shooting that injured an armed robbery suspect.
Suhr told residents in the typically quiet neighborhood that occasionally crime happens in unlikely places — or to unlikely people.
“I'm not immune,” he said.
Suhr said his burglary case remains unsolved.
