Emergency personnel are looking for three dogs that went missing after a vehicle driven by a dog walker crashed and went over an embankment in the Sunset District on Thursday afternoon.

The driver, a woman, had a small child in the car as well as multiple dogs when she crashed at 26th Avenue and Santiago Street shortly before 3:30 p.m., San Francisco fire spokesperson Lt. Jonathan Baxter said.

The dogs escaped the crashed vehicle, but authorities were able to contain most of them and called their owners.

“My crew said there are dogs everywhere,” Baxter said.

Three dogs remained missing as of 4:30 p.m. The dogs that were located were shaken but uninjured.

The driver and child were both taken to a hospital but are expected to survive.
