Texas parolee accused of sexually assaulting S.F. woman

A man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of a sexual assault Saturday night in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood, police said Wednesday. Arthur Salinas, 57, was booked on several counts of aggravated and sexual assault and for failing to register as a sex offender, among other charges. Salinas has past sexual offense convictions in Texas; he was sentenced to 60 years in prison in 1982, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was paroled in 2009. Read More

Teen attacked and robbed in Sunset district

A 16-year-old girl was jumped and robbed about 2 a.m. Monday on 48th Avenue in the Outer Sunset district, police said. Two thugs in their early 20s ambushed the girl, punched her several times and stole her cellphone, police said. The thugs fled. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. Read More

Man assaulted at Cow Hollow bar

A 26-year-old man was assaulted with a bottle in a Pierce Street bar in Cow Hollow on Friday, police said. The suspect struck the victim after asking him to get up from his seat, although it was unclear why. No arrest has been made, and the man’s injury was not life-threatening. Read More

Jelly jar used as weapon during altercation in Sunnydale neighborhood

Two women got into a real jam in the Sunnydale neighborhood Monday, police said. The two women, one 58 and the other 50, were arguing in the 400 block of Argonaut Avenue about 3:10 p.m. when one cut the other in the leg and the hand with a knife, police said. The injured woman then grabbed a “jelly jar” and smashed it on the other woman’s head. Both women were arrested, and their injuries were minor. Read More

Man seeking hooker experience at San Francisco motel is instead robbed and beaten

A shady meeting in a Tenderloin motel resulted in an assault and robbery Wednesday, police said. A 52-year-old man who was meeting a prostitute at the Civic Center Inn at 790 Ellis St. was robbed by a man in his 30s about 3:15 a.m., police said. The victim was in a room in the motel when the suspect came in and punched and kicked him, police said. The crook then fled with the victim’s cellphone, cash, jacket and phone case. Read More

San Francisco youth accused of robbery in front of police station

This might not be something they teach you in high school: Don’t rob someone in front of a police station. Bayview cops had their work come to them Tuesday when a 15-year-old crook robbed a woman across the street from the police station, Capt. Robert Sullivan said. About 4:13 p.m., officers walking out of the station saw a 43-year-old woman on Newhall Street waving to get their attention, police said. She told the officers she had just been robbed of her iPhone and jacket, and the suspect had fled. Read More

San Francisco pizza deliveryman attacked, robbed of cash

A trio of thugs jumped a pizza deliveryman for his cash in the Bayview district Sunday, police said. The victim had delivered a pizza about 4:45 p.m. in the first block of Dakota Street, police said, when three men in their 20s attacked him and took his cash. San Francisco 49ers fan reportedly stabs Atlanta Falcons fan after NFC Championship

While rowdy 49ers fans traipsed through the Mission district after Sunday’s dramatic comeback victory in Atlanta, one incident outside the Georgia Dome turned bloody, according to reports. A male Falcons fan was reportedly stabbed in the neck by a Niners fan after the game, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. An argument allegedly occurred between the two that escalated when the Atlanta fan punched the 49ers fan. Read More

Victim shot in arm during home-invasion robbery in Mission Terrace

A man was shot during a home invasion robbery in Mission Terrace on Tuesday, police said. Two men armed with handguns forced their way into a residence in the 200 block of San Juan Avenue about 10:40 a.m., police said. Two other men were inside. The crooks searched the place and made off with a cellphone, jewelry and cash, police said. One victim was injured when one of the crooks fired his gun, grazing the victim. Man charged in connection with sexual assault in San Francisco

Jovan Jones, the man arrested last weekend for allegedly breaking into a Telegraph Hill apartment and sexually assaulting a woman, will be arraigned this afternoon, Assistant District Attorney Alex Bastian said. The 25-year-old from Marin City reportedly forced his way into the 26-year-old woman’s apartment about 8 p.m. Saturday as she was returning home, Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. Jones threw the victim to the ground and threatened to kill her before demanding her property and assaulting her, Andraychak said. Read More

Man accused of DUI after Mission cop car collision

A man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in the Mission district Monday after he collided head-on with a police cruiser, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. The 22-year-old suspect was driving at a high rate of speed westbound on 19th Street about 12:48 a.m. when he struck the cruiser near Mission Street. The officer was hospitalized but quickly released with injuries not considered life-threatening, Esparza said. Read More

Hot-tempered woman allegedly torches room on Polk Street

Police arrested Ashley Dickstein, 26, of San Francisco, on Sunday after she reportedly set her hotel room on fire during a spat with her lover,  spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. Police responded to the 2000 block of Polk Street about 10:55 p.m. after Dickstein and her boyfriend got into a brawl, during which she bit him and he called police, Esparza said. A fire was burning in the room, but it was quickly extinguished by the hotel’s sprinkler system and a hose in the hallway. Read More
