Man arrested in April Bayview shooting

Bayview Police Station officers arrested a suspect Monday in connection with the April 21 shooting that left a man in critical condition, police said.   An officer reportedly saw the suspect riding a bike in the area of Third Street and Newcomb Avenue about 2:30 p.m. and arrested him without incident. In the April 21 incident, a 42-year-old man was shot several times in the 1600 block of Galvez Avenue, police said. The suspect and the victim reportedly know each other. Read More

Life term for murderer of Hells Angel

A Mongols motorcycle club member was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for the murder of the president of the San Francisco chapter of the Hells Angels, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. Woman attacked, robbed at gunpoint in Marina

A woman was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday in front of her Marina district home, police Officer Albie Esparza said. The 32-year-old victim was opening her garage when she arrived home near Divisadero and Bay streets at 8:53 p.m. when a man holding a gun approached and told her to “give him everything she had,” police said. The gun-toting goon reportedly pulled her into the garage while another suspect rifled through her car and snatched her cellphone. She was thrown to the ground before the crooks fled, Esparza said. 300 block of Monterey Boulevard, 8:25 a.m. Monday A man’s bike, helmet and sunglasses were stolen, police said. The victim saw that the cabinet where he kept his bike had been forced open. The victim was working on a film project with classmates and had left the tripod in the hall for a few minutes. Just one more beer. A Bayview man was cited and arrested for allegedly imbibing a beer while “throwing bones” Saturday in Mendell Plaza. Bike-riding cops in the 1400 block of Mendell Street saw the man drinking a beer outside while playing dominoes about 1:45 p.m., police said. He was detained and given a citation. The man then went to a nearby liquor store, bought another beer and began drinking it in front of the officers. They approached him again, but he fled. Read More

Crime Blotter: Bus brutes gang up for man’s stabbing

A man was stabbed after exiting a 14-Mission Muni bus Tuesday morning, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. The 42-year-old was on the bus near 26th Street about 1:20 a.m. when four young men asked him his gang affiliation, police said. The victim left the bus, but the four thugs followed and attacked him, Andraychak said. Three serious injuries reported in separate crimes

Three people were critically injured in separate crimes last week, police reported Monday, and two suspects are still at large. On Saturday, a 62-year-old man was struck in a hit-and-run in North Beach, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. The victim was crossing Columbus Avenue near Green Street about 11:18 p.m. when a white, late-1990s Chevy Suburban with tinted windows hit him, Andraychak said. San Francisco police fire at robbery suspect, but no one is injured

Cops thwarted a robbery in South of Market on Sunday night and shot at the alleged thief after he drew a gun, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said. 16th and Mission streets 1 a.m. Wednesday A man was assaulted and robbed, police said. The victim was talking on his cellphone when he was struck from behind with an unknown object. As he watched the assailant flee, he realized his phone was gone. 17th and Dolores streets 1:50 a.m. Wednesday A woman was robbed by four other women, police said. Woman chases down thieves after robbery

A woman was robbed and bruised in a Mission district robbery Tuesday, police Sgt. Daryl Fong said. The 42-year-old was at a store about 3:15 p.m. when she put her phone down on a counter, Fong said. Another customer then told her that a man and a woman had fled with it. The victim tried to buy back her phone, but it was again pilfered when she feigned taking a picture of the man, Fong said.
