David Patrick Omara, 46, was arrested early Thursday morning after binding and gagging a 20-year-old woman he believed stole an iPad and cash from him in a previous sexual encounter that occurred Tuesday, South San Francisco police said.

Felonious Faux pas: Robber had designs on woman’s wallet
A 66-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint near the Design District Tuesday, police said.
The victim was walking in the 2300 block of 16th Street about 10:30 a.m. when an unknown male suspect put “a hard object” against her head and demanded her property, police said.
She handed the crook her wallet and he fled on foot.

It’s time to pick on somebody your own size.
A teenage boy was burned in the face with a cigarette and his male friend was assaulted during an armed robbery Monday in the Western Addition.
The teens were walking with two others on McAllister Street near Laguna Street about 5:50 p.m. when three men approached and asked for the time, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
The first victim, a 14-year-old, told the men the time, Esparza said, but one of them then demanded cash. The boy refused.
The man pulled out a pistol and reached into the boy’s pocket.

“Lucky 13!” Capt. Paul Chignell declared at the top of Bayview Police Station’s newsletter released Monday. He wasn’t talking about the hip Market Street dive bar, but rather the number of guns confiscated by cops in the Bayview in the past 30 days.
“Removing guns from the streets of the Bayview is our highest priority,” he said.
The latest arrest happened Sunday in the 1100 block of Palou Avenue, police said. Cops responded to the scene of shots fired in the 1400 block of Hawes Street near Shafter Avenue at 7:46 a.m. after a machine gun- fueled drive-by, police said.

A Southern California man was fatally shot in the Bayview early Monday morning as he was driving his car, police said.
Calvin Sneed, 22, of Compton, was near Bayview Park at Meade and Le Conte avenues about 2 a.m. when he was shot in the head, police Officer Albie Esparza said. Sneed’s vehicle then crashed into a parked car.
He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and pronounced dead at 5 a.m., Esparza said.

A 32-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in a liquor store, police said. The victim was harassed by two of three men in their 20s. He walked away and the third man punched him in the face. The victim blacked out, woke up in his bed and realized his wallet had been stolen.

A man was shot in the arm in the Western Addition on Wednesday, police said.
The 23-year-old victim was walking in the 800 block of McAllister Street about 9:15 p.m. when he heard gunshots, police said. He then realized he’d been shot in the arm.
A family member drove him to the hospital for treatment of his injury, which was not life-threatening, police said. There were no known suspects as of Thursday.

An off-leash pit bull’s owner might be more of an animal than her pet.After the woman’s dog mauled another dog, she reportedly lied about her identity and paying for veterinary expenses. The incident happened about 3:25 p.m. Monday in the 3100 block of San Bruno Avenue, police said. A woman was walking her dog when a pit bull suddenly appeared and bit the other dog on its back before dragging it into bushes and mauling it. The pit bull was off-leash.

A 52-year-old woman was startled by a would-be burglar, police said. She was in her bedroom when the creep walked in. He was apparently surprised to see someone home, so he fled. The woman locked her door and called 911.

Four out of five cargo vans’ tires were slashed, police said. When cops arrived, the owner of the vans told police he believes his neighbors are upset that he parks all his vans there.

A Mission district business was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday, police said.
An employee was walking out of the business in the 3100 block of Mission Street about 6:45 p.m. when he encountered three men, one of whom had a shotgun and pointed it at the man’s chest while the others pushed him back into the building.
The victim attempted to grab the shotgun, police said, but the suspect racked a round and ordered everyone inside the business to the ground.

A cabdriver reported being assaulted Tuesday by an unruly passenger. On Wednesday, the roles were reversed.
A man was assaulted with a tire iron by his cabdriver near Russian Hill about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
The victim and a friend were picked up on the 2100 block of Chestnut Street in the Marina district, police said. At some point, the driver and victim reportedly got into an argument over the fare and the cab stopped at Filbert Street and Van Ness Avenue.

This firebug appeared to have cash to burn, but it wasn’t his money. Luis A. Hernandez of San Francisco was arrested Saturday on suspicion of breaking into a family’s house in the 1600 block of Dolores Street and starting a fire. Hernandez, who might have been drunk, reportedly entered through a rear patio door about 5:15 a.m. while the family was sleeping upstairs, police Officer Albie Esparza said. He attempted to light the father’s wallet on fire on top of the stove, Esparza said.

This fare was a real pain in the neck.A taxi driver was assaulted and had his cab stolen in the Mission district early Tuesday morning, police said. The 58-year-old victim reportedly picked up three people at 18th and Valencia streets about 1 a.m. During the course of the ride, an argument ensued between the passengers, police said. One of the passengers, a 48-year-old man, began yelling at the cabdriver before choking him from the back seat, police said.
