The 52-year-old victim was arguing with her son, Nathan Nounou, 21, in the 100 block of Valdez Avenue about 5:17 p.m., Shyy said, when the argument escalated and Nounou allegedly grabbed the cake cutter and slashed his mother in the face, arms and legs.
