Nob Hill post office closed due to possible hazmat

A Nob Hill post office is closed after several workers were sent to the hospital with symptoms that could be related to a hazardous materials situation.Fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said five employees working at the post office on the 1400 block of Pine Street were told by their supervisor to go to St. Francis Hospital this morning after experiencing “itchiness” over a period of a couple of days. Yongze Wei identified as S.F. crash victim

The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s office identified the 25-year-old man who died in a car crash Tuesday night as Yongze Wei, a San Francisco resident. According to police, Wei was driving along Sunset and Lake Merced boulevards at about 10 p.m. when his car hit a curb; he was ejected from his car and pinned by the vehicle, police said.Wei was removed by fire crews and eventually pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital.Medical authorities waited to release Wei’s name because his family was out of the country and had not been notified. The 49ers are moving to the South Bay, but the football team will keep ties to The City by naming its new stadium after a San Francisco-based apparel company.The team and Levi Strauss & Co announced on Wednesday that the $1.2 billion stadium in Santa Clara, set to open in 2014, is going to be called Levi’s Stadium. Crews have finished cleaning up the Golden Gate Bridge, but expect delays through the evening commute. As of 1:30 p.m., two lanes were open to southbound drivers from the north end of the bridge to Anchorage, where the new paving ends. After Anchorage, an additional southbound lane was opened up for the remainder of the bridge.However, at this point, the Golden Gate Bridge District is recommending that Giants fans traveling south into The City use the Golden Gate Ferry to reach AT&T Park -- or leave earlier than usual. Muni delayed after man found on tracks at Powell Street station

Muni trains experienced a 65-minute delay this afternoon after police were called to remove a man from the tracks at the Powell station.Train service resumed at roughly 1:30 p.m. after police finished their investigation.
