A 24-year-old man who was shot in the backyard of a Bayview residence Monday afternoon was not cooperating with investigators, police said Tuesday.
The man reportedly suffered a bullet wound to the lower back on the first block of Latona Street, near Third Street, at about 2:50 p.m.
He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life threatening injuries, police said. His current condition was not immediately known.
Police say there were at least two suspects toting a handgun, but have no descriptions of them.

A man was shot multiple times early this morning when he went out for a cigarette in the Sunnydale neighborhood, police said.
Gunfire erupted at about 5 a.m. in front of a home in the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue, Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The 46-year-old victim told police he was on the porch when he heard the shots. He then “realized he’d been shot multiple times” in the legs and abdomen, Shyy said. He's reportedly being treated at San Francisco General Hospital for injuries that are not life threatening.

A two-alarm fire on Treasure Island last weekend started when a 29-year-old man reportedly “gathered a bunch of cleaning chemicals such as Clorox and began cooking them to see what would happen,” police said Monday.
Chad Ingram, 29, of San Francisco was booked into jail on a charge of unlawfully causing a fire in connection with the 4 a.m. blaze Sunday on Sturgeon Street near Avenue B, Officer Gordon Shyy said.
Ingram reportedly told police officers who had responded to the scene how the blaze occurred.

After witnessing someone spraying graffiti on a Muni shelter early in the morning last week, a citizen took the time to lead officers to the vandal, police said.
The man was reportedly driving along Mission Street near Russia Avenue at about 3:20 a.m. on April 29 when he witnessed the vandalism.
“The witness immediately called the police and decided to follow the suspect as she walked northbound on Mission from Russia Avenue,” police at Ingleside Station said.

A man was struck in the head with a metal pipe because he refused to buy the attacker booze at Eighth and Market streets early Friday, police said.
The thirsty thug became insanely jealous that the 47-year-old victim was drinking alcohol at the intersection about 1 a.m. The 50-year-old asked the victim to give him money for booze but was rejected, Sgt. Dennis Toomer said.
In response, Toomer said, “the suspect hit him in the head with a metal pipe twice.”

A Tenderloin man was beaten with exercise weights and a kitchen table leg, and also bitten and strangled, after asking a 27-year-old woman who was high on meth and booze to leave his apartment Thursday, police said.

Three suspects fleeing police after a shooting in the Mission district early Thursday made it all the way to the Candlestick Park exit before their car crashed, police said, but one of them managed to escape.
Police were reportedly nearby when gunfire erupted at Mission and 19th streets at about 2 a.m. Officers even saw shots coming from a vehicle, police said.
The officers found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to the hospital while other units chased after a white sedan.

A San Carlos man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that he savagely beat another patron of a Belmont bar early Monday, critically injuring him.
Joseph Patrick Kaufman, 23, and the 48-year-old victim had been drinking separately at Lariat Tavern, prosecutors said, but they got into an argument outside the bar after closing time about 2:15 a.m.
The spat was over the older man's female friend, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. Further details about a possible motive were not available.

A drunken man who was reportedly enraged at his mom for refusing to hand him the keys to her car last week broke items in his parents’ Bernal Heights home, punched walls and overturned recycling bins before stomping off.
Officers responded to the home near Cortland and Folsom streets at about 11:30 p.m. and found the allegedly shameful man-child a short distance away, police said.
The man “violently resisted” both officers and tried to attack one of them, police said.
