South City police investigating armed robbery at Bank of the West

South San Francisco police are searching for suspects wanted in connection with a robbery at a Bank of the West on Friday, a police corporal said.At around 10:25 a.m., police were called to the bank located at 2288 Westborough Blvd., police Cpl. Elena Brennan said.Police were initially told that there were possibly two or three armed suspects inside the bank, and about six employees and two customers inside as well, Brennan said.Upon arrival, officers were unable to make contact with anyone inside the bank, Brennan said. Woman’s car riddled with gunfire in Bayview drive-by

San Francisco police are investigating a frightening drive-by shooting in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood Thursday evening that left a 22-year-old woman’s car riddled with bullets.Police spokesman Lt. Troy Dangerfield said the woman, a city resident, was driving north on Ingalls Street near George Court at about 6:50 p.m. when someone inside a gold sedan driving in the opposite direction opened fire.Dangerfield said the woman heard gunshots and saw a muzzle flash, and later found four bullet holes in her car. Carbon monoxide in hotel possibly came from water heater

Carbon monoxide that sent four San Francisco Marriott Marquis guests to the hospital Thursday night may have come from a leaking water heater located near the hotel, a fire spokeswoman said Friday afternoon.Firefighters had responded at about 10:40 p.m. Thursday to reports of multiple people suffering from flu-like symptoms at the hotel, located at the intersection of Fourth and Mission streets, San Francisco fire Lt. Reports of a gun sighting delayed BART trains by more than 15 minutes Friday morning at San Francisco’s Civic Center station, a BART spokesman said.BART police responded to reports of a gun sighting at about 8:30 a.m. at the Civic Center station, but officers were unable to find a firearm, spokesman Linton Johnson said.The police activity caused delays of between 13 and 18 minutes for trains leaving from the station in the Millbrae, East Bay and San Francisco International Airport directions, Johnson said. A 19-year-old Palo Alto man was struck and killed early Thursday morning by a Caltrain in Palo Alto in what was the agency’s first fatality of the year and possibly “an intentional act,” a Caltrain spokeswoman said.The last southbound train of the day, Train 198, departed San Francisco station at 12:01 a.m., and spokeswoman Christine Dunn said that the man was fatally struck by that train at about 1:20 a.m.It is not yet clear how or why the man was on the tracks, but Dunn said “a preliminary investigation indicates that this was an intentional act.” Read More

San Francisco police are on the lookout for a suspect responsible for shooting a man on the street Sunday night, according to a San Francisco police official.At about 9:12 p.m., dispatchers received multiple calls about a shooting at the corner of Larkin and O’Farrell streets, Officer Albie Esparza said.Police arrived on scene and found one man who had been shot in the torso, Esparza said.The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, Esparza said.
